Stockport, 15th September 2026 - Ripe, the digital managing general agent (MGA), has launched Ripe Classic Cars, a dedicated insurance product for classic, modern classic and collectible cars.
Underwritten by specialist motor insurer ERS, Ripe Classic Cars brings a simple digital customer journey to a category that has traditionally relied on paperwork and phone calls.
Customers can get a quote in minutes and buy and manage their policy online, while still having access to UK-based, specialist support when they need it. Claims are handled by people who understand classic cars, backed by a network of repairers focused on true-to-original work.
Ripe Classic Cars has been built on Juice, Ripe's proprietary underwriting and distribution platform, which enables rapid product development and simple digital customer journeys. It builds on expertise and excellent customer feedback from Ripe Motorhomes and joins a portfolio spanning over 20 consumer and SME products.
The product launch comes amid strong growth in the UK classic car insurance market, which has reached £836 million in 2026, exceeding its pre-pandemic peak of £786 million in 2019.
It also follows another year of strong growth for the business. Ripe reported turnover of £24.9 million in 2025, up 21% year-on-year, alongside continued M&A activity including the completed acquisition of holiday homes insurance specialist Schofields.
Commenting on the news, Alan Thomas, CEO at Ripe, said: “Classic car ownership is changing. We’re seeing a new generation of enthusiasts entering the market through modern classics, while more owners want to get out and enjoy their cars rather than simply viewing them as investments.
“We built Ripe Classic around this shift in consumer needs. We see a real opportunity to bring our digital-first approach to a growing market and make specialist insurance simpler and more accessible for classic car owners - backed by nearly 30 years of expertise.”
