John began his career in advertising, launching his own agency back in 1989. After successfully launching several products for his clients, he had his eureka moment and decided to build his own brand and take it to market. In 1997 he spotted a niche for golf insurance and the rest as they say is history.
John formed The JRW Group in 1997, which became the powerhouse behind Golf Care and nine other insurance products over the coming years. John brought in a strong Management Team around him and his drive and ambition was instrumental in growing The JRW Group to become the leading niche insurer in the UK. The JRW Group was re-branded to Ripe Thinking in September 2017 and the next chapter of growth began.

Qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1984 with KPMG, Colin spent 10 years as Financial Director and 10 years as CEO of Staniforth Public Relations and Marketing before selling this to Omnicom Inc in 2001. After being introduced to and working closely with John and The JRW Group, Colin joined as a Director and shareholder in April 2008.
As a qualified Chartered Accountant, Colin has been largely responsible for the corporate strategy and financial performance of the company and works closely with the Financial Controller and the other members of the Management Team to ensure that the numbers are taken care of and John can sleep soundly at email@example.com
Starting his career as an underwriter for Royal Insurance in 1989, Paul is ACII qualified and a Chartered Insurance Broker of the CII.
In 2002, he became the Managing Director for Hill House Hammond (part of Aviva) and led the sale of the business to Towergate, Europe’s largest independently owned Insurance Intermediary. He was then appointed Regional Managing Director at Towergate and led 17 SME, commercial and corporate retail broking businesses across the UK, including Towergate’s London Market business with a total premium of £420m.
In 2014 Paul joined Brightside Group Plc as Group CEO and in 2015 moved to JLT / Thistle Insurance Services as Managing Director.
Paul’s journey took him to Ripe in 2016 where his knowledge of specialist niche sectors and in-depth experience of the digital landscape will be instrumental in accelerating Ripe’s growth and success in the coming firstname.lastname@example.org
