Ripe brings insurtech to caravan insurance following investment in new multi-million pound CRM platform

Today Ripe Insurance announces the launch of two new products aimed at the growing UK leisure market: Ripe Insurance for Touring Caravans and Ripe Insurance for Static Caravans. The Static product also includes cover for lodges, cabins and chalets.

Ripe Caravans distinguishes itself from the competition with a build-your-own model where customers only pay for the cover they need, unlike many insurers in this sector who offer pre-bundled packages. Using Ripe technology, customers can build a bespoke policy to cover their exact needs, buy online and receive policy documents all within a few clicks. The product is underwritten by the UK’s largest insurance company, Aviva, recently announced as Ripe’s new long-term capacity partner.

Commenting on the announcement, John Woosey, Founder and Managing Director of Ripe Insurance, said: “The UK static and touring caravan market is growing. With the rise in staycations, there are now over half a million touring caravans and over 365,000 static caravan holiday homes in the UK. This is a market that is crying out for innovation and a new modern, tech-driven product that meets the needs of today’s savvy customers.”

Ripe, which employs over 65 people at its HQ in South Manchester, has also announced the launch of a new and bespoke multi-million-pound CRM system. Designed in-house over the last two years, using cutting-edge technologies, this cloud-based platform has been created to be flexible and scalable enough to realise Ripe’s growth ambitions and goes live with the launch of the Caravan products. Woosey commented: “To be a trailblazer and stay ahead you need to be constantly investing in the latest technologies and we are fully committed to this.”

With the ability to integrate with the latest data analytical tools as well as using robotics and AI to help better understand and learn from our customers, this new platform has been built to achieve Ripe’s growth strategy and deliver a first-class customer experience.

2020 is set to be another successful year for the company which in its last set of results reported an eleventh consecutive year of growth. Recently Ripe made the ‘Sunday Times Tech Track Ones to Watch Shortlist’ and was named Personal Lines Broker of the Year at the prestigious Insurance Times awards 2019.
